Drug Store Raid's "I Wanna Be a Hipster" is an unexpected blend of post-punk wit and irony

I’ve never been the biggest fan of punk music, but Drug Store Raid’s single “I Wanna Be A Hipster” hit me in a way I didn’t expect. The sheer energy grabbed me from the get-go, with its chaotic, fast-paced guitars and thumping drums creating a sound that’s as raw as it is infectious. This track’s clever, razor-sharp lyrics pulled me right in. The song is a witty takedown of hipster culture, complete with self-aware irony. There’s something so bold and refreshing about the way Drug Store Raid doesn't take themselves too seriously—they’re poking fun at the very scene they’re a part of, and doing it with style. The post-punk sound mixed with jazz and indie elements creates a unique, rebellious vibe that’s hard to resist. Even as someone who doesn't usually gravitate toward this genre, I couldn’t help but appreciate the wit and creativity packed into this track. I’m genuinely excited to hear what their upcoming album, Background Music For Family Arguments, will bring.
